Love hearing more of your story! I resonated with this: “The constant code-switching drains me and encourages me to find a middle ground at such events. We live in a global world where cultures melt and mix, and we should be able to preserve our unique selves and encounter others without the need to code-switch.”

I can totally relate to this. I was born and raised in Oman. I lived in India for a year before moving to US. Thank you for this essay. And I’ll have to buy that book - Third Culture Kids.
